About J2 Living Co.

At J2 Living Co., we design and build custom furniture shaped by the way people actually live. Our work is inspired by a farm-to-table way of life and guided by a belief that good design, like good food, starts with quality materials, thoughtful process, and care in the details.

From dining tables and kitchen islands to outdoor pieces built for all seasons, our work is made to be used, gathered around, and lived with. Each project is shaped by timeless craftsmanship and a connection to home, land, and everyday routines.

J2 Living Co. is a custom furniture and design studio based in Western Massachusetts. Our scope spans both home and land — including dining and coffee tables, kitchen islands, garden structures, chicken coops and enclosures, and other functional pieces that support everyday, farm-to-table living. Whether built for the kitchen, the garden, or the space in between, each piece is designed to be useful, durable, and built to last.

Our work grows out of the life we live every day — growing food, caring for animals, cooking, building, and gathering. We believe homes should feel grounded and honest, and that the objects within them should earn their place through use, longevity, and care.

Meet the Makers

Hey there! We’re James and Jack—partners in life and design, and the duo behind J2 Living Co., based in Hadley, Massachusetts. Our work is shaped by a shared love of good design, thoughtful craftsmanship, and the everyday rituals of home—from morning coffee to tending the garden and caring for our chickens.

We launched J2 Living Co. in 2024 with the goal of creating custom furniture that feels grounded, useful, and built to last. From dining tables that anchor a home to custom builds tailored to specific spaces, our work is guided by collaboration, careful process, and an attention to detail that carries through every stage of a project.

Jack brings a strong design sensibility to the studio, with a Master’s in Industrial Design from RISD and a background in woodworking, metal fabrication, and product design. His approach balances form and function with a thoughtful, creative edge that shapes each piece from concept to final build.

James focuses on the operational side of the studio, with a background in business and finance from UMass’s Isenberg School. He oversees project planning, client experience, and logistics, while also working hands-on in the shop—designing, building, and problem-solving alongside Jack.

Together, we create furniture shaped by real life—pieces meant to be lived with, gathered around, and used every day.

How We Work

At J2 Living Co., we believe furniture should support the life built around it. Every project begins with listening—understanding how you use your space, what matters most to you, and what you want a piece to feel like in daily life. From first sketches through final installation, our process is hands-on, collaborative, and shaped by care at every step.

Much of our inspiration comes from life outside the shop—time spent cooking, gardening, caring for animals, and gathering at home. That same sense of comfort, warmth, and connection informs everything we build.
