About Us

Hey there! We’re James & Jack—a creative design duo based in Hadley, MA. We started J2 in 2024, inspired by our shared passion for building custom furniture that’s both beautiful and made to fit your life. Whether it’s a statement piece for your home or something totally unique you’ve been dreaming up, we’re here to help bring it to life.

Jack (he’s on the left!) has a Master’s in Industrial Design from RISD and brings a strong background in wood and metal fabrication. He’s got a great eye for mixing form and function in creative ways. James earned his BBA from UMass’s Isenberg School and adds a solid foundation of project management and client experience, plus a love for all things hands-on and home-focused.

At J2, we specialize in crafting one-of-a-kind furniture and custom design pieces that are personal, practical, and built to last. We love working closely with clients—from the first conversation and sketch, all the way to the final installation. Every piece we make is designed with care, tailored to your needs, and meant to feel right at home in your space.

Outside the shop, we’re usually soaking up the outdoors, taking weekend drives through Vermont, or spending time in our backyard with our small (but growing) flock of chickens. We’ve spent a lot of time turning our home into a cozy retreat, and that same focus on comfort and thoughtful details shows up in everything we build. In our downtime, Jack enjoys painting and experimenting with new creative projects, while James can usually be found gardening or fixing up something around the house.
