J2 Living Co. is a custom furniture and home design studio based in Western Massachusetts.
We design and build one-of-a-kind pieces—from dining tables and outdoor furniture to unique home accents—using quality materials, timeless techniques, and a deep respect for how people live. Each piece is handcrafted to bring beauty, function, and meaning to your space.

Our work is rooted in the farm-to-table lifestyle we live every day: growing, making, and creating with intention. We believe homes should feel grounded, soulful, and built to last—just like the furniture inside them.

Meet the Makers

Hey there! We’re James & Jack—partners in life, design, and way too many house projects.
We’re the duo behind J2 Living Co., based in Hadley, MA and fueled by good design, strong coffee, and the occasional chicken break.

We launched J2 in 2024 with a shared passion for thoughtful craftsmanship, meaningful design, and creating pieces that truly feel like home. From showstopping dining tables to custom builds tailored to your space, we’re here to turn your ideas into something lasting, through a process that’s collaborative, creative, and rooted in care.

Jack (he’s usually sketching ideas or adjusting something with laser precision) has a Master’s in Industrial Design from RISD and a knack for blending form, function, and just the right amount of surprise. His background in woodworking, metal fabrication, and product design helps shape the studio’s creative edge. James (more likely organizing the project schedule or picking basil for dinner) earned his BBA from UMass’s Isenberg School and keeps things running with a focus on operations, client experience, and a deep love for homegrown living. Beyond the spreadsheets and schedules, he’s also hands-on in the shop—designing, building, and troubleshooting with the same attention to detail he brings to business operations.

Together, we’re building more than furniture—we’re crafting pieces with soul, rooted in the rhythms of real life.

Our Philosophy

At J2, furniture is more than just function—it’s a reflection of the life you build around it. That’s why every project we take on is guided by your needs, your story, and the feeling you want your space to evoke. From first sketch to final installation, we keep the process hands-on, collaborative, and tailored to you.

Outside the shop, you’ll find us road-tripping through Vermont, experimenting with new creative projects, or spending time in the backyard with our chickens and garden beds. That same focus on comfort, warmth, and connection inspires everything we build.
